PROGRAMS AND POLICIES

PROGRAM

This program involves Indonesian citizens participating in transmigration to utilize natural and artificial resources for the benefit of national defense. Transmigrants strengthen key components such as the TNI in defending sovereignty, farmers in national food production, and educational, religious, health, and socio-cultural personnel in community empowerment. This strategy aims to strengthen national integration and economic growth in the 2025-2045 period.

The program aims to transform transmigration human resources by selecting qualified individuals who are committed to improving their capacity through training and education, including higher education. Patriot Transmigrants are expected to have the spirit of state defense and reliable skills. The government facilitates physical, mental, and intellectual preparation, including basic military education and scholarships, with a commitment to service in the transmigration area for ten years after study.

The program targets poverty alleviation in transmigration areas that are closely linked to villages and the agricultural sector. With high risks due to climate change and the challenges of the global food crisis, transmigration plays a role in supporting national food self-sufficiency. Supporting regulations, such as Village Minister Regulation No. 25/2016, encourage the development of agricultural product processing industry facilities in New Urban Areas to improve the welfare of transmigration communities.

This program develops transmigration areas with the potential for natural beauty into tourism destinations. By building appropriate infrastructure and public facilities, and involving local communities, transmigration tourism is expected to become a new source of income for transmigrants through the tourism sector, while still paying attention to environmental sustainability and regional spatial plans.

This program utilizes the economic potential of transmigration areas with a minimum area of 19,000 hectares through the development of superior commodities and the establishment of holding companies. With modern and professional management, as well as the involvement of BUMDes, cooperatives, and MSMEs, it is expected to increase product competitiveness and certification, so that transmigration areas can develop more optimally and sustainably.

This program is a model of transmigration settlement development with urban scale and function, oriented to the needs and potential of the destination area. Through inclusion and involvement of various parties in the Pentahelix model, as well as a focus on increasing information technology knowledge for transmigration communities, Transpolitan aims to answer the challenges of previous transmigration policies that are synonymous with slow development, areas difficult to develop, and homogeneous livelihoods.

POLICY

New Direction of President Prabowo Subianto's Policy (Transmigration in Asta Cita vision)
Transmigration policy has an important relationship with the Asta Cita vision of President Prabowo, especially in the context of equitable development and improving people's welfare.

Asta Cita itself is eight great ideals that form the basis of policy direction Indonesia's development under Prabowo's leadership, which include includes improving the quality of life of the people, economic equality, and equitable infrastructure development across Indonesia.

In this case, transmigration policy can support the achievement of several points Asta Cita, such as:

Equitable Development: Transmigration aims to distribute population from densely populated areas to less populated areas, which can reduce development inequality between regions. This is in accordance with the spirit of Asta Cita to create equitable and inclusive development.

Improving People's Welfare: By shifting part of the population from congested areas to larger areas with natural resource potential, transmigration can create new employment opportunities and improve the standard of living of people in more isolated areas.

Infrastructure Improvement and Regional Development: One of the key points in the Asta Cita is the development of infrastructure throughout Indonesia. Transmigration programs are often accompanied by the development of basic infrastructure (such as roads, electricity, clean water) in transmigration destination areas, which can accelerate the development of these areas.

Therefore, transmigration policy can be considered a strategic step in supporting President Prabowo's vision and mission related to equitable development and social welfare.
